About Team Doughty
I’m Caroline Doughty, the educator behind Team Doughty.
Currently, I'm a program manager with Amazon's Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator. In this role, I run educational programming for Black-owned business as their grow their business on Amazon.
Before this role, I spent 10+ years in public educator as a classroom teacher and technology integration specialist.
Throughout my work as a program manager and an educator, I have a variety of experience leading professional development, workshops, and seminars on topics from social and emotional learning to cloud curriculum.
I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history and Master of Teaching degree in elementary education. After teaching for a few years, I returned to the University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development and received a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with an instructional technology focus.
I believe technology is a powerful tool that is changing the classroom experience. My philosophy is to show students and teachers how to use that power in authentic and purposeful ways. Students should be creating, collaborating, and thinking critically with technology. Instructional technology is not a consumption device that students experience in isolation.
Team Doughty is a collaborative space that shares my work with teachers, students, and colleagues. My students refer to our classroom community as Team Doughty because together we are capable of so much more! My experiences bring together the ideas, sharing, and collaboration of a variety of people and I look forward to sharing them with you!
